Design and Consultation

My services are flexible and I can accommodate a wide range of projects, whether that’s helping to redesign a tired plant border or planning a complete overhaul of the garden. My priority is helping you create a beautiful, natural garden from whatever point you are starting from. I’m always happy to work alongside clients - it’s hard not to develop the ‘gardening bug’ when you have been part of the design and planting process yourself!

I work in the Warwickshire area, including Kenilworth, Leamington, Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon, extending into Coventry and Solihull.

Full Garden Design

This starts with a no obligation meeting where we run through the services I offer and to discuss your project. When you have decided to go ahead, I arrange a briefing meeting where we talk through your requirements in detail. I will then spend time in your garden completing a site analysis and taking measurements. Where the site is particularly large or complex, I may recommend the use of a specialist surveyor for this element of the process. I then set about planning a design concept, which takes into account the details from the brief, the complexities of the site and budgetary requirements. I present the concept to you, with a number of sketches to bring the design to life and give you plenty of opportunity to feedback. When you are happy, I provide detailed working drawings, including planting and lighting plans (as required), which can be used to obtain quotes from contractors and to build the garden.

Consultation and Summary

You may be at the start of developing a garden and want to do the work yourself but need some inspiration to get started. Or perhaps you are new to gardening and want some guidance to get going. I’ll come for an hour long visit and walk round the garden to discuss your thoughts and get an idea of the space. We can talk through some of the key aspects I consider in a site analysis and when I’m pulling a concept plan together. We will have a look at site specifics such as soil type and light. I’ll provide you with a summary report including suggestions and examples of plants that would work in the space.

Planting Plans

Planting is often the part of creating a garden that people find tricky - there is quite a lot to take into account to put together a harmonious scheme. Similar to the full garden design process, I will take the time to understand your brief, the site and take measurements of the space. I will then put together a detailed planting scheme, with the plants labelled so you can easily source them if you wish to plant yourself. You could alternatively make use of my planting service. Or we can work together planting the garden, whatever suits you!

I also offer optional maintenance notes to help ensure your planting continues to thrive.

Planting

If I have put together a planting plan for you, either as an individual project or as part of the Full Design Service, I provide a plant sourcing and planting service.
