Kenilworth Barn

When I first visited this garden, the space was dominated by an old garden studio and an oil tank, both blocking the view of the fields beyond. The owners were keen to open up the space and make it a garden they could entertain in, whilst also filling it with beautiful planting in keeping with its setting.

By removing the studio and moving the oil tank, we’ve created space for everything on the wish list - outdoor kitchen, bar, comfy seating, dining, pergola with hot tub and a couple of veg beds. The key in this design was to carve out separate entertaining spaces using deep planting beds. - this approach avoids a mass of paving and creates zones even in a relatively small garden. The clients have done a wonderful job managing the build on this garden and it’s spilling over with lovely planting, full of butterflies and bees on a sunny day.
