I fell in love with gardening when I purchased my first house in London in my 20s. I started out with a red and yellow checked paved back garden - it wasn’t exactly inspiring! I had great views of the space via large sliding glass doors and I knew redesigning the garden would bring huge value to me and to the property. So I set out with a simple design - new paving, lawn and colourful planting and with the help of a hard landscaper it was really transformed. It made such a positive difference when I walked in the door from a day in the hustle and bustle of London.

Redesigning gardens for both my home in London and now in Warwickshire, I’ve focused on creating beautiful spaces that are full of plants, colour and life. After a successful 20 year career in Finance, I knew I could combine my professional skills with my passion for horticulture to deliver beautiful, functional design projects for clients. So I decided to retrain. Studying with the RHS, the British Academy for Garden Design and training via the Work and Retrain As a Gardener Scheme (WFGA) has provided the skills I need to help create a garden you love.

A garden for me is first and foremost a natural space and it’s a great feeling when you can use your garden to encourage nature in. When I set up Hart Garden Design I knew I had two main priorities - making sure every customer has a garden they love and ensuring those gardens give something back to nature.
